'tism wars: Does DSP have autism?

This thread will be for debating if Phil is autistic or if he has just isolated himself for so long that he seems autistic.

I think public opinion has swayed on this over the years. I believe that more people used to think that DSP was autistic, whereas the majority now think he’s just weird and retarded. But that’s just my impression.

Anyway, I’ve always been firmly in the “DSP has autism” camp. More specifically, I believe that Phil exhibits traits that are common among autistic people.

Phil used to have a giant whiteboard in his kitchen, on which he would write out every meal that was to be cooked, for each day of the week, every week. Even to this day, Phil talks about the stress of having to plan out his meals for the week when he goes grocery shopping on his day off, so I think it’s likely that he still uses this whiteboard, or at least keeps track of it in some way.

And of course, there’s his rocking back and forth. The autistic folks call it “stimming.”

(Watch the background)

Is Phil autistic?
  • Yes, he’s autistic.
  • No, he’s just retarded.

What has held me back from thinking that Phil is autistic is his Machiavellian tendencies. Specifically the discord leaks where he was talking about needing to drag people down in apologies so they feel too guilty to “betray” him again. Autistic people don’t think like that.

why do you ask questions to which you already know the answers?

maybe?

I’ve been going down a yt rabbit hole of police interrogations on the Explore With Us channels and they talk about behaviour patterns and body language anytime they get to someone with narrisim and anti-social personality disorder which usually comes with autism it’s like they’re describing a DSP stream.

The self soothing, the body language, the movements, the hand gestures, the corner demons…it’s kinda creepy that phil could have been a murderous derich.

I really do think Phil has autism.

Does he have it to the same extent as CWC? Fuck no.

But it is called the spectrum for a reason. He is showing autistic traits way above what can be expected of a “regular” person.

This is all confused by the fact that there is not just one thing wrong with Phil, so it can get really tricky figuring out what is behind a specific malfunction of Phils.

Phil has a LOT of things, but autism isn’t one of them. He is a STRONG candidate for NPD (Narcissism Personality Disorder) with a pretty high and dangerous level of psychopathy. He also shows strong signs of cluster B personality disorder of Avoidant Personality Disorder (APD). A bit of a backstory: I have a strong background in psychology, including criminal psych, cognitive psych, behavioral psych, and early childhood development. However, I must stress: I am NOT a clinician nor do I claim to be one. I do have classical training in those fields, along with a strong working knowledge of biology, chemistry, and A&P. I am also working on my BS in microbiology and have a strong knowledge in how our minds and bodies work. Also, Phil shows signs of someone that is coming out of solitary confinement, such as poor ADL’s (Adult Daily Living), degrading social skills, and signs of someone that has possibly developed symptoms that are close to schizophrenia. To come to that last assessment, I would have to ask Phil certain questions and that would require actually getting in touch with him, but he does shows signs of extreme paranoia, which is seen a LOT in prisoners that have been in long term isolation. That said, this is my analysis on our boy, Dave.

One thing about people that are NPD, they suffer what is known as cognitive dissonance. If something doesn’t fit into their world, they are able to easily convince themselves and others through heavy gaslighting, which he tried during the interview and failed…and once that didn’t work, he tried to change the issue, as he was stuck in a corner from Adam, and he essentially started to get scared and turn on the water works as the interview went on in a way of getting someone on their side.

In Phil’s mind and world, he is the forever victim. Everyone is trying to hurt him, life keeps shitting on him, yet…people are jealous of his success and everyone hates him for no reason. He did nothing wrong, dood. He did everything correct. However, he fails to see not just how his actions hurt people, but also turn potential fans off. Also, everyone is seen as an asset. You’re nothing more than to be used to further his way of life. The moment you’re no longer useful a la John, Howard, and Leanna, you’re immediately thrown to the side of the road. Yeah, you’ll get the text at 5AM from Dave or late night phone call, but…it’s essentially trying to throw the net to restablish contact in order to “feel” something once again. Yet, when Dave mentioned about Scott’s passing on stream, a private matter, he decided “Hey, I can milk pity bucks out of this.” Not realizing that certain things should remain private…and John and Howard had and still have every right to feel betrayed by Phil for sharing that information.

Basically. Phil doesn’t give a fuck about anyone BUT Phil and what you can do for him and him only. You are an asset to him. Even his own parents are assets to be used. There are a plethora of other things that Phil fits on the NPD scale, which I’ll link below, but here are a few:

  • Expect to be recognized as superior even without achievements.
  • Expect special favors and expect other people to do what they want without questioning them.
  • Behave in an arrogant way, brag a lot and come across as conceited.
  • React with rage or contempt and try to belittle other people to make themselves appear superior.
  • Experience major problems dealing with stress and adapting to change.

Now, with Avoidant Personality Disorder. Phil has shown strong signs of avoiding social situations like it’s his full time streaming job. While Phil is a “big man” and has confrontation in his nature online, but in person, it has been noted that he is meek and very quiet. Also, I remember one moment in time where he went to Las Vegas, but instead of seeing the sights and everything, he went to grab food and stayed in his hotel. People with avoidant personality disorder avoid social situations unless they know for certain they are liked. Symptoms include:

  • Experiencing extreme anxiety (nervousness) and fear in social settings and relationships. This may lead them to avoid activities or jobs that involve being with others.
  • Being shy and self-conscious in social situations due to a fear of doing something wrong or feeling embarrassed.
  • Tending to exaggerate potential problems or misinterpret feedback as negative.
  • Being overly concerned about criticism or disapproval.

Sound familiar to someone we know?

Also, Phil is showing strong signs from extreme isolation. One of those is cognitive decline, along with poor self care (ADL’s). It all correlates to his issues with avoidant personality disorder, along with NPD.

Again, this is just an assessment and a analysis. Until the day comes from a licensed clinician about Phil’s condition, we will never truly know.

What do you make of the stimming / rocking and schedule fetish? Are those not autistic as fuck?

This is one of the things about Phil that I find really interesting. Obviously, he lies and tries to gaslight people constantly, but he doesn’t seem to be able to tell when his lies and gaslighting don’t work.

Phil believed that he came across as genuine and honest during the interview. He legitimately thought it went well, when it very obviously did not, and he was completely blindsided when he found out, after the fact, that Adam and company didn’t believe his lies.

It’s almost like, he thinks that other people are unable to discern lies from truth. If he says something is one way, there is no possible chance of anyone being able to think that it is the other way. Like he doesn’t think that people are perceptive enough. But, ironically, it shows his lack of perception, or self-awareness when he’s caught off-guard by the notion of someone not believing his narrative.

I think the whole “rocking back and forth” comes from his extreme anxiety. Him doing that is a physical reaction to him dealing with anxious thoughts and feelings, especially in situations he feels uncomfortable in. It’s the physical reaction to him soothing himself in situations he feels uncomfortable in. Also, it comes with the idea of him not hitting his tips goal, superchats goal, etc…if it’s not hit, he starts to get visibly shaken. He has this cognitive goal in his mind, in order to keep that win streak in WWE Champions, as that is the most important thing to him. If it wasn’t DSP, I would say “Jesus Christ, this dude needs help.” but, Phil is a major piece of shit who deserves nothing but the worst, because of the people that he has hurt throughout his life and continues to lie and hurt.

I know Phil won’t do it, because his life is the whole internet, but he needs a long break away from being streaming man and actually seek professional help for his issues, but, if I was a betting man, which I’m not, the whole idea of putting himself into situations where he is not immediately liked scares him and puts him in a panic.

The rocking is a common autism thing but it could definitely be self soothing behavior. A very common autism trait that Phil doesn’t do is subconsciously imitate the speech patterns of people he’s talking to there’s a few calls where Chris Chan does that and one where someone noticed it and gets oddly upset(I know they’re a troll but it’s really harmless behavior to get angry at)
